mr M.L. van Leer (Lou)

Lou van Leer specializes in migration law and family law. In migration law she particularly assists clients who want to bring their partner, children or relatives to the Netherlands (family reunification) and clients whose long term residence permits are at risk of being withdrawn by the immigration authorities. Lou also advises and litigates regularly in family law matters, including (international) divorces and cases involving children.

Lou  studied Law at the Free University of Amsterdam (VU). During her studies she worked as a volunteer at Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland. After her graduation Lou briefly worked for the Immigration Service, after which she started working at the Immigration and Asylum Department of the District Court of Amsterdam. In 2009 Lou was called to the bar.

Lou is a member of the national Working Group for Legal Aid in Immigration and Asylum Cases. She is fluent in Dutch and English and also speaks Spanish and French.
