Jarinde Temminck Tuinstra specializes in national and international criminal law, for adults as wel as minors. She also covers cases involving aliens and migrants, including aliens custody cases.
Jarinde Temminck Tuistra taught criminal law at the University of Amsterdam, where she was awarded a doctorate in Law for her dissertation on the position of the defense in international criminal law. She was a visiting researcher at the UN Rwanda Tribunal in Arusha, Tanzania, and at Yale Law School in the USA. She is the author of a large number of national and international publications.
Jarinde Temminck Tuinstra is a member of the Advisory Committee on Immigration Law of the Netherlands Bar Association. She was called to the bar in 2007 and is a member of the Netherlands Association of Young Criminal Lawyers, the Dutch Association of Juvenile Lawyers and of the national Working Group on Legal Aid in Immigration and Asylum Cases. She speaks French, German and English.
She has registered the following areas of law in the register of legal practice areas of the Dutch Bar Association:
- Criminal law (including International Criminal Law, Juvenile Criminal Law, Extradition and Extradition Cases and Immigration Criminal Law)
- Immigration law (including immigration detention)
- Supreme Court (criminal law)
This registration obliges her to obtain ten training points per calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association in each registered area of law (Declaration belonging to Article 35b, first paragraph, of the Regulation on the legal profession (de Regeling op de advocatuur); public and publicly accessible publication of registration).
